The Good Oil

I get asked frequently about which oil to use to preserve and protect chopping boards.  The oils to steer clear of are believe it or not vegetable oils , the reason is many of them can go rancid over time.  You can also find oils which are food safe e.g. Tung Oil and Danish Oil , whilst safe they tend to change the colour of the wood.  As such, I only use Pure Natural Mineral Oil on my chopping boards and other food boards as it penetrates better, doesn't colour the wood as it dry's clear
